Juventus is experiencing a particularly turbulent end to the transfer window. After having advanced quietly for a long time, the bianconero club has clearly been activated in recent days, with the Jérémie Boga and Emil Holm files announced very close to being made official. Two profiles targeted to provide depth and immediate solutions, but which are not enough to mask a reality. Juve is on all fronts, without having yet completed any major file during this winter. Since January, rumors have multiplied around the Old Lady, with leads leading to Kolo Muani, Beto, Zirkzee, Guessand or even more experienced profiles. A lot of noise, a lot of work behind the scenes, but no agreement definitively sealed by Damien Comolli, François Modesto and Marco Ottolini, at a time when the transfer window is panicking.

Sportingly, the dynamic is nevertheless positive. Under the leadership of Luciano Spalletti, Juventus has found a clearer identity, a more coherent game and above all a certain continuity in results. Still in the race in the Coppa Italia and still engaged in the Champions League, Juve is preparing to begin a real marathon of matches, with the clear ambition of playing for the title until the end. But Spalletti doesn’t hide it. To last over time, the former Napoli coach was waiting for offensive reinforcements capable of making the difference in key moments. The coincidence of the calendar also offers a strong symbol, since Juventus will soon face Galatasaray in the Champions League play-offs, at the very moment when the two clubs find themselves linked by a burning issue on the transfer market.

A return of Icardi to Italy?

It is in this context that the name of Mauro Icardi returned with a bang to the table. According to information from La Gazzetta dello Sportthe Argentine striker has been discussing a contract renewal for several months which is struggling to materialize. In question, a salary considered too heavy by the Turkish club, almost 10 million euros per season, which management would like to spread over several years. A proposal which does not completely convince the player, especially since his sporting situation has become complicated with competition from Victor Osimhen for a year. Juventus has stepped into the breach, and according to the newspaper with its pink pages, the first information has taken place in recent days. The interest is very real, encouraged by Icardi’s desire to return to a central role and a championship that he knows perfectly after stints at Sampdoria and, of course, Inter Milan.

The contours of the rumor are even becoming more and more precise this Sunday. Juventus would have, in fact, offered Icardi a one and a half year contract, a solution which would limit financial risks while offering Spalletti a real experienced number 9 for the second part of the season. The player’s agent is currently in Istanbul trying to convince Galatasaray to open the door to an early departure. Icardi’s return to Serie A, notably under the orders of Spalletti after a turbulent shared past at Inter, would have all the makings of an explosive scenario. Nothing has been decided yet, the conditions remain complex, but on the eve of the closing of the transfer window, Juventus is trying everything possible. The soap opera has started and the next few hours promise to be decisive.
