The 21st day of the Bundesliga ended with an XXL poster between Bayern Munich (championship leader) and Hoffenheim (3rd), this Sunday afternoon. At the Allianz Arena, the Bavarians had to move forward to preserve their lead over Dortmund (2nd) and recall their status as a solid boss this season. The draw against Hamburg last week (2-2) had hurt the morale of Vincent Kompany’s men, who therefore needed three points at home to reassure themselves. On the other side, Hoffenheim arrived with serious ambitions and great qualities. Under the orders of Christian Ilzer, in full confidence with notably five victories in a row in the championship, the visitors did not come to make up the numbers. The objective being to bring down the Munich people on their lawn for the second time this season. The game, however, got off to a bad start for Hoffenheim as the visitors were reduced to ten men after the first quarter of an hour of play. Luis Diaz, caught in the area, was immediately awarded a penalty. This, concluded calmly by Harry Kane, allowed the Bavarians to open the scoring (20th, 1-0).

A few moments later, he almost scored a double, alone against the opposing goalkeeper. The team in red continued its efforts in numerical superiority, but was surprised. Manuel Neuer missed his restart and this left Fisnik Asllani to serve Andrej Kramaric in the area, who had no difficulty in equalizing (35th, 1-1). While the visitors had managed to reassure themselves, everything collapsed in 45 seconds. Harry Kane put his team back in front with a second penalty (45th, 2-1), then following a counter-attack, the Englishman served Luis Diaz to score Bayern’s third goal before the break (45+2, 3-1). Returning from the locker room, Luis Diaz also scored a double during a superb collective sequence (62nd, 4-1), before ending the evening in the most beautiful way with a third achievement from elsewhere (89th, 5-1). Vincent Kompany’s team therefore remains leader of the championship with 54 points. For its part, TSG stagnates in third place with 42 points.
