Strasbourg supporters once again demonstrated their dissatisfaction on Sunday evening during the PSG reception, and especially the rejection of multi-ownership. The harmful effect of the close link with Chelsea was further felt with the departure of Mamadou Sarr, requested by Liam Rosenior, now on the Blues bench. The Senegalese defender thus experienced his last match at Meinau, not without a certain sadness.

An almost predictable start as Chelsea show no sentiment with their loaned players. Proof of this is in the case of Aaron Anselmino, also recalled early from his loan to Borussia Dortmund. The German press reveals new details about this funny story. Chelsea terminated the loan of their Argentine defender 3 hours before his clause expired. And would have acted in this way in particular because BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl had let slip the hope of keeping the 20-year-old Argentine player.

Chelsea didn’t like BVB’s attitude

“I will contact him again in the coming days. We have excellent relations with this club. We hope he stays longer”he said at the end of November, while Anselmino had put together a series of good performances with the BVB. Chelsea would have taken these statements very badly, since the English leaders had clearly explained to their German counterparts that they were counting on Anselmino in the future and that they were out of the question of including a purchase option. Any attempt was doomed to failure and by acting in this way, Kehl annoyed the London management, but also the BVB supporters and the German press, who criticized him for his lack of anticipation.

Chelsea therefore took revenge by deciding to recall Anselmino. Not even to play him, but to lend him to Strasbourg, as compensation for Mamadou Sarr. In the story, Anselmino is taken from one country to another. In tears when saying goodbye to his Dortmund teammates, he returned to London before being sent to Strasbourg. Who recovers a player full of talent but with damaged morale.
