FC Barcelona has formalized the arrival of young Egyptian striker Hamza Abdelkarim. The Catalan club has reached an agreement with Al-Ahly for the loan of the 18-year-old player until June 30, 2026, with a purchase option estimated at 3 million euros. The first Egyptian player in history to join Barça, Abdelkarim will initially play with Barça Atlètic, the reserve of the Blaugrana club. Before his departure, he had extended his contract with Al-Ahly until 2028.
Revealed on the international scene during the U17 World Cup in Qatar, where he scored two goals and provided an assist, Hamza Abdelkarim quickly established himself as one of the great hopes of Egyptian football. Less visible during the U17 CAN, he nevertheless continued his progress with the Al-Ahly first team, playing eight matches for 361 minutes of play in all competitions. With the Egyptian U17 selection, he has a promising record of 12 goals in 19 caps.
