After its first setback of the season in the league against Augsburg (1-2) and its stunning success at Eindhoven in C1 this week, Bayern Munich (1st) traveled to Hamburg (16th) for the 20th day of the Bundesliga. A meeting during which Manuel Neuer made his return to the starting XI, after two matches on the bench. Starter and scorer against PSV, Jamal Musiala started on the bench. Facing a valiant Hamburg team, the reigning German champions started this match strong by increasing their attacks on Daniel Heueur Fernandes’ goal. Kimmich even found the crossbar (28th)… two minutes before HSV opened the scoring from the penalty spot thanks to Fabio Vieira (34th, 1-0). Not enough to thrill the Bavarians who got back on track before half-time, thanks to Harry Kane (42nd, 1-1).

In the second half, it only took 46 seconds for Munich to take the lead, thanks to Olise who served Diaz perfectly (46th, 1-2). But seven minutes later, Luka Vuskovic placed an unstoppable header for Neuer to tie the two teams (53rd, 2-2). Despite a lively second half, Hamburg and Bayern separated at 2-2. Bayern continues a second consecutive poor performance in the league, but remains leader with a comfortable lead over its runner-up, Borussia Dortmund. Hamburg is 13th.
