Sir David Beckham, co-owner of Inter Miami, is presented as the providential man capable of bringing together Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

These two football legends competed against each other for years, without ever playing on the same team. This ultimate pact could well come to fruition, CR7 being tipped to join the MLS following its strike against Al-Nassr.

Ronaldo on strike in Saudi Arabia

Portuguese superstar Ronaldo shows great frustration in the Saudi Pro League. He would be disappointed with the management of the championship, in particular the unequal distribution of funds allocated to transfers. He also decided not to be selected.

Inevitably, questions arise about what happens next, and speculation is rife regarding a new challenge that CR7 is said to be seeking. The former Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus striker sees his return to Europe discussed.

It has also been suggested that he could join Messi in chasing the American dream. If this route were to be taken, Beckham and his teammates at Inter Miami would undoubtedly be among the candidates. Several obstacles remain to be overcome before such a dream becomes reality, and doubt persists whether two football legends will ever join forces.

Could Ronaldo join Messi at MLS Cup winners Inter Miami?

Asked about this possibility, along with former England captain Beckham, former MLS player Rob Earnshaw, speaking via bookmaker Betfree, told GOAL: “ If such a scenario were possible, it would be at Inter Miami. Unfortunately, I don’t think that will ever happen. Every fan dreams of seeing them play together before they retire. I don’t think it will happen, but if there was a chance, I think David Beckham would be the one to make it happen. »

Earnshaw, who played in North America with Toronto FC, Chicago Fire and Vancouver Whitecaps, explained why Ronaldo might be hesitant to join Messi in South Florida:
“They are two great players, world figures, international stars. I don’t see how that could happen, because they are two dominant personalities: it doesn’t matter where they play, on any team, it’s their team.

“Maybe we need a neutral team, because if Ronaldo goes to Inter Miami, it’s Messi’s team, we know that, and I don’t think that will happen. Same in the other direction. If this were to happen, it would be in a neutral team where neither has ever played. I hope we see that one day.

“As a reminder, there were “Rest of the World” versus “Europe” matches. I remember a Brazil-Barcelona match, where the Rest of the World team faced a European team. This might be the only way to see them play together. »
