Lazio sought a precious success on the pitch of Hellas Verona (0-1) at the Stadio Bentegodi, at the end of a long-undecided meeting. Well in place defensively, Maurizio Sarri’s men were able to control the tempo against a Veronese team organized as a unit, but narrowly missing in the last thirty meters. The first period, closed and choppy, ended without any real clear chance on either side.

Returning from the locker room, Lazio gradually gained the upper hand before making the difference thanks to a decisive goal scored in the second half, rewarding their territorial domination. Hellas, despite a few attempts and the activity of Gift Orban and Giovane up front, never really put Ivan Provedel in great danger. This success allows the Romans to remain well placed in the race for European places, while Verona sees its momentum slow down after several encouraging performances.
