Chelsea have decided to activate the recall option of Aaron Anselmino, currently on loan at Dortmund. The young 20-year-old Argentinian central defender, who arrived in Germany in August for a season including a break clause, is therefore returning to London according to The Athletic. This experience in the Bundesliga and the Champions League should allow the Blues to better evaluate the rest of his career and to study the options on the central defender market.
The London club has a similar situation for Mamadou Sarr, another 20-year-old player currently on loan at Strasbourg, also under contract with Chelsea. As the winter window draws to a close, all possibilities remain open to strengthen or adjust the squad. On the other hand, Josh Acheampong, a youngster trained at the club, should stay, and a departure of the 19-year-old Englishman is considered improbable by management.
