With the return of Ronald Aurajo, Barça decided not to recruit Nico Schlotterbeck. Despite his qualities and a solid season in Dortmund, the central defender does not correspond to the desired profile, in particular because of his speed considered insufficient for Barça’s style of play. Schlotterbeck will leave Dortmund this summer and remains coveted by Bayern Munich and Real Madrid according to Sport.
The Catalan club is now focusing on two other options: Alessandro Bastoni, top priority from Inter Milan, and Micky van de Ven, young Tottenham defender known for his insane speed. The aim is to secure a player who can fit in immediately and bring speed and aggression to Hansi Flick’s Barcelona defense.
