Levante and Espanyol parted back to back (1-1) at Ciudad de Valencia at the end of a long-closed match, before a short but intense decisive sequence in the second half. After a first act lacking in clear chances, the Catalans struck first after returning from the locker room through Carlos Romero (53rd), taking advantage of a moment of defensive hesitation from the Granotas to open the scoring.
Levante’s reaction was immediate. Pushed by their audience, Luís Castro’s men quickly got back together thanks to Iker Losada (55th), well served by Adrián de la Fuente, rewarding a clear increase in intensity from the locals. Despite a few situations on both sides in the last quarter of an hour and a long added time, neither team managed to make the difference. A logical draw which leaves a taste of unfinished business, but which reflects the overall balance of the debates. A very good point taken by Levante, 19th, against the Catalans who are in 5th position.
