Luis Enrique said it again and again on Thursday at a press conference: Paris Saint-Germain has not necessarily decided to be active at all costs during the transfer window, but if a good opportunity were to present itself, he would do what was necessary to recover it. And that’s precisely what’s happening with Dro Fernandez.

According to various media this Saturday, PSG recruiters went on the attack to curry favor with the FC Barcelona attacking midfielder. A pure product of the Blaugrana training center, Dro Fernandez has not found an agreement with his club to continue the adventure there.

Under contract until 2027, the eighteen-year-old player has a release clause of six million euros stipulated in his contract. A sum obviously well within the reach of PSG’s Qatari wallet. Sensing the right move, the capital club contacted the player and his entourage, managing to find a verbal agreement around a four and a half year contract.

PSG talks with Barça

Despite competition from big European players such as Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund, it was Paris that was able to convince Dro Fernandez. One fact probably helped in the matter: the young footballer and Luis Enrique both have the same agent: Ivan de la Peña.

Discussions will now take place between Paris Saint-Germain and FC Barcelona to find final common ground and complete a well-executed file. This season, Dro Fernandez has participated in five matches with the Barça first team. Having started twice, he has already signed an assist.
