It has now been five days since
Rolland Courbis is dead. The tributes have continued to rain in since the announcement of the disappearance of the “coach”.

In his show “It can happen to you”, Julien Courbet expressed his emotion. “It’s a huge loss. I met him, for the record, when I was a young animator. I interviewed him at the time at the Girondins de Bordeaux training center and there was talk that he might perhaps go to coach Marseille, which was, when we were in Bordeaux, a bit of a sacrilege.told the television host on M6.

Born in Gironde, in Caudéran, Julien Courbet is known to be a big supporter of the Aquitaine club. At the beginning of the 1990s, the 60-year-old television host was even the announcer at Parc Lescure.

And the host continues his story: “I said to him: ‘Are you going to leave Bordeaux to go to Marseille?’ Eye to eye, he said to me: ‘Listen little one, you never hear me’. Thank you for this scoop and the next day, he signed for Marseille. So, I called him back and we became friends like that. Thank you for everything you have done for Rolland football.”

Rolland Courbis left the Girondins de Bordeaux to join Olympique de Marseille in 1997.
Robert Louis-Dreyfus had then recently become the owner of the Marseille club.
