“With time and a long-term project, we hope to no longer need to go to the transfer market, to pay big transfers. We hope to build a Parisian team with more players from the training center”. This is what Luis Campos said a few weeks ago on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the PSG training center. A training center more than ever highlighted by Luis Enrique, with titis Mayulu, Ndjantou and Mbaye, who have become regular starters this season due to the accumulation of injuries. Psg has built up a squad depth that it did not seem to have at the end of the summer transfer window, only concluded by the arrivals of goalkeepers Lucas Chevalier and Renato Marin and defender Illya Zabarnyi.
With his few media contacts, sports director Luis Campos is spreading the idea of a very calm winter transfer window, without any particular objective. A far cry from that experienced a year ago, with the decisive arrival of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia for €70 million but also the departures of Skriniar, Asensio, and Kolo Muani or even the definitive sale of Xavi Simons to RB Leipzig. Luis Enrique repeats that he is happy with his squad, with the satisfaction of seeing young elements stand out when he calls on them.
Possible reinforcement in the middle and in defense
However, according to our information, there could still be movement, if market opportunities arise in two positions in particular: in defense and in midfield. In defense, because PSG also opened the door to Lucas Beraldo leaving, as we revealed to you. In the middle because Luis Enrique’s rotations call upon the different elements in other positions (Zaire-Emery and Mayulu in particular).
PSG continues to work on the same type of file: young elements, with strong room for improvement, technically reliable, ready to adapt to the demands of Luis Enrique. Not so easy to find, and even less so in the winter transfer window. There is no urgency in any case, since the Spanish coach proved during the first part of the season that he knew how to deal with hazards. The objective for PSG will remain to finally find its typical team on a regular basis, the one which lit up Europe during the second part of the 2024-2025 season.
