AC Milan is intensifying its efforts to retain Mike Maignan. According to La Gazzetta dello Sportthe club has officially submitted to the international tricolor a contract renewal proposal, in line with the salary of Rafael Leão, the highest paid in the team, and is now awaiting his response. If last summer Maignan’s departure seemed certain, the situation has changed: management, Allegri and teammates are increasing the signs of recognition to convince the captain to stay. Discussions should materialize quickly in order to clarify everyone’s intentions, while the goalkeeper considers a decision that will mark his career.
The Rossoneri are offering a long contract, until 2029 with option 2030, with an annual salary of 7 million net, bonus included, and are considering additional bonuses linked to future participation in the Champions League. Coach Massimiliano Allegri also plays a key role in this process. The Italian daily specifies that the Milan team is nevertheless monitoring alternatives, but any major investment in the goalkeeper position will depend on the final agreement with the Frenchman.
