This Thursday, Arsenal faced Liverpool on the pitch at the Emirates Stadium for the 21st day of the Premier League. The Gunners (1st), defeated (0-1) last August by the Reds (4th), had revenge to take. From the kick-off, Arsenal took control of the ball. The locals, however, struggled to transform their domination into a goal against a well-grouped opposing defense.
The London defense came close to making an error before the half-hour mark. Frimpong, launched at full speed by Bradley, hit the post with his right foot after a disagreement between Saliba and his goalkeeper Raya (27th). One of the main dangers for Arsenal came from Declan Rice. In the 44th minute, the English midfielder attempted an acrobatic recovery on a Timber cross offset by Gyökeres, but Alisson intervened on the ground to seize the ball.
The Gunners without success
The Londoners dominated the game and increased their attempts through Saka, but came up against Liverpool’s tight defense. The Reds also had several highlights in the second half, with neither team managing to break away, the score remaining goalless until the final whistle.
With this draw (0-0), Arsenal maintains its leadership position with six points ahead of Manchester City and Aston Villa, 2nd and 3rd respectively. Liverpool, for their part, remains 4th and maintains two steps ahead of Brentford, fifth.
