Before concluding its exceptional year, marked by a sixth and final title in the Intercontinental Cup against Flamengo, Paris Saint-Germain faced the current fifth in N3, at La Beaujoire: Fontenay-le-Comte. Due to adversity, PSG logically rotated its squad and several were entitled to their first professional match, including David Boly and goalkeeper Renato Marin. Ballon d’Or Dembélé will wear the captain’s armband in attack, with Ramos and Doué.

The start of the match was also quite balanced between the two teams and Fontenay even allowed himself a few constructions to tickle the opposing block, despite clearly Parisian possession. And this came to fruition quickly thanks to a good call from Doué on the edge of offside and well served by Dembélé (1-0, 25th). After being unbalanced in the area, Ramos offered a penalty to the Parisians and was transformed by Dembélé (2-0, 35th). The only downside remains the injury to young Boly’s ankle a few moments earlier (29th).

The Titis managed well

The second period was even more complicated for the N3 residents, lacking physical condition against a Parisian team which accelerated the pace. Doué was close to a splendid goal after eliminating five opponents, but the Fontenay goalkeeper made the perfect save (52nd). But after a good collective movement, Mayulu, repositioned right piston after Boly’s injury, could perfectly serve Ramos for the third goal (3-0, 52nd). Before the Portuguese scored an express double by taking advantage of an error by the Vendée defense (4-0, 58th).

With great control, Paris Saint-Germain was content to manage the end of the match and ended its perfect year with a last qualification in the 1/16 finals of the Coupe de France. Before continuing with a busy month of January with the derby against Paris FC, the Champions Trophy against OM and the rest of the Champions League. The epic ends there for Fontenay, who was solid during the first period and even woke up Marin before the end of the match (86th). A performance they will remember, against the reigning winners of the C1.
