There were plenty of draws this Sunday in the Premier League. After that conceded by Manchester United against Leeds (1-1), that of Tottenham against Sunderland (1-1) or that of Liverpool against Fulham (2-2), Manchester City and Chelsea in turn shared the points in the duel between them (1-1).

However, the Cityzens came very close to raising their arms at the final whistle. They were the ones who opened the scoring in the first period. Three minutes before returning to the locker room, Tijani Reijinders found the loophole to allow his team to take the advantage, almost at the best moment (1-0, 42nd).

In a complicated series which notably caused the departure of their previous coach, Enzo Maresca, the Chelsea players nevertheless showed that they were determined to redress the situation. Or at least not to lose. And they managed to snatch the point from a draw a minute before the end of added time.

Enzo Fernandez saves Chelsea

It was Enzo Fernandez who put on the savior costume of the evening for the Blues by scoring twice against Gianluigi Donnarumma (1-1, 90th + 4). Explosion of joy among the London supporters and silence on the Manchester side. On the pitch, Pep Guardiola’s men collapsed to the ground, a good number of them. And the referee therefore whistled the end of the debates.

In the standings, Manchester City misses the opportunity to come back to four points behind the leader, Arsenal. As for Chelsea, they moved back ahead of Manchester United on goal difference and found themselves fifth. In a week, City will host Brighton while the Blues will play a derby against Fulham.
