FC Barcelona is already anticipating next season, and rumors around its central defense are multiplying, especially since Ronald Araujo’s break for mental health reasons. According to Mundo DeportivoBarça mainly targets Josko Gvardiol (23 years old) from Manchester City and Alessandro Bastoni (26 years old) from Inter Milan, two left-handed defenders also capable of playing on the side, comfortable in recovery and experienced despite their young age.

These two players represent a significant investment, and Barcelona have not yet returned to an optimal situation with regard to Financial Fair Play, but the club hopes to be able to make a transfer happen next summer. Gvardiol particularly fits Barça’s needs. His arrival could, however, be complicated, although the possible departure of Pep Guardiola from Manchester City next summer could facilitate the operation. The Croatian is valued at 70 million euros, while Bastoni is estimated at around 80 million. Nico Schlotterbeck, Pau Torres, Marc Guéhi or Ibrahima Konaté are also among the options considered by the club.
