End of suspense in this first round of CAN 2025. Even before the last matches in groups D, E and F, which will take place Tuesday evening and Wednesday, the sixteen teams qualified for the round of 16 are known. The draw won by Tanzania against Tunisia (1-1), combined with Uganda’s defeat against Nigeria (1-3), helped to resolve the situation.
The 16 qualified for the round of 16
- Group A: Morocco, Mali
- Group B: Egypt, South Africa
- Group C: Nigeria, Tunisia, Tanzania
- Group D: Senegal, DR Congo, Benin
- Group E: Algeria, Burkina Faso, Sudan
- Group F: Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Mozambique
In the three remaining groups, the order is not yet determined and will be important. For the moment, only two posters for the round of 16 have been recorded: Tunisia-Mali (January 3 in Casablanca) and Morocco-Tanzania (January 4 in Rabat). For Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe, the competition is over.
