Thanks to his new assist this Saturday from a corner for Hugo Ekitike during the match of the 16th day of the Premier League against Brighton, Mohamed Salah has further inscribed his name in the history of Liverpool. This offering allows the Egyptian striker to total 277 direct goal contributions for the Reds in the league, including 188 goals and 89 assists. A monumental record which testifies to his consistency and his major influence on Liverpool’s game since his arrival, despite a start to the season far from his best level.

With this total, Salah now overtakes Wayne Rooney, who held the previous record with 276 appearances (183 goals and 93 assists) for Manchester United. The Egyptian thus becomes the player with the most direct goal contributions for a single club in the history of the Premier League. Enough to silence recent criticism.
