Several times announced in the hot seat in recent weeks, Xabi Alonso (44) retains the confidence of Real Madrid for the moment. Asked about his situation at a press conference, the Spanish coach admitted: “I’m fine, and I hope you are too.” We see each other often. I see you more often than my own family. I am motivated, full of energy and in great shape. We want to finish on a high note. The period was difficult and trying. We want to start the year 2026 well (…) It’s part of the job, I didn’t come here to suffer. This sort of thing has always happened. In this job, there are all kinds of situations. It’s not a problem at all.”

He continues: “the club always aspires to excellence, we know our goal. We know how we want to build it. We are all united, from the president to the players, to give the best of ourselves. It is undeniable (…) From the beginning, we have maintained a close relationship, based on respect and affection. The demands are extremely high. The road is long; there will be ups and downs.” He hopes to have a high tomorrow evening during the final meeting of the calendar year against Sevilla. “It’s the last game of the year. We have played a lot of matches and we want to finish in style, get our third victory and approach 2026 with energy and optimism. The opponent is demanding, he requires a lot of effort, he plays a lot one-on-one, his players engage in numerous duels. They are good with the ball. We want the supporters to have fun.” See you tomorrow then.
