OL: first setback for Endrick

Discussions between OL and Real Madrid finally began this week around a loan for Endrick. Lacking offensive solutions after a first part of the season marked by numerous departures and injuries, OL are looking for an attacker capable of playing a focal point. The profile of the young 19-year-old Brazilian ticks all the boxes for Paulo Fonseca, who has been talking with the player for several weeks. Barred from Madrid by competition, Endrick gave his agreement in principle in November for a loan from January to June, seduced by the prospect of significant playing time in Ligue 1, the Coupe de France as well as the Europa League.

For its part, Real Madrid has shown itself open to a dry loan in order to promote the development of its jewel, under contract until 2030. The negotiations mainly concern the financial aspect, in particular the partial payment of the player’s salary, estimated at more than 400,000 euros per month, an amount incompatible with the constraints of the Madrid DNCG without compromise. Recently established in the Coupe du Roi alongside Kylian Mbappé, Endrick confirmed his potential, without calling into question his wish to leave… Both clubs are optimistic, even if the timetable remains tight: in the event of an agreement, the striker could only officially join Lyon from January 1, with the hope of quickly joining the group to begin its relaunch in France. But a small blow for the former Palmeiras player: even in the event of a quick agreement, Endrick would have very little chance of being qualified in time for OL’s trip to Monaco at the beginning of January, unless there is an exceptional acceleration of the administrative process as explained on our site a few days ago.
