Things are getting better between Mohamed Salah and Slot. According to the Daily Mailthe Egyptian had peaceful discussions with Liverpool coach Arne Slot on Friday afternoon, and the two men shook hands after a week which threatened to plunge the club into a real internal crisis. The coach had earlier announced that he would speak with the Pharaoh, who had recently claimed to have been “thrown under the bus” by the club and no longer have “relationship” with Slot. These statements led to his exclusion from the match against Inter Milan on Tuesday, with Salah not even traveling to Italy.
The English tabloid reveals that Friday’s exchanges were positive and Salah is back in contention for the match against Brighton on Saturday. He has not started in the last four meetings. The situation is not yet fully resolved, but further discussions are planned between the Egyptian international’s representatives and the Reds during the Africa Cup of Nations, after the game against Brighton. “The chances of a departure now seem reduced”the newspaper said, while clubs from the Saudi Pro League and MLS were interested in the player. This lull should at least reassure the supporters a little.
