Isak went on strike at Newcastle in July, refusing to train and play, ultimately leading to the Magpies agreeing a deal with Liverpool for an England record fee, locking down their star player.
Since then, the 26-year-old has struggled to regain his form and fitness. He did, however, score his second Premier League goal for Liverpool in their 2-1 win at Tottenham last weekend, before fracturing his leg – a situation which former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan described as ” just a return of things.”
“I’m trying desperately not to fall into the same trap as Jacob Marley, and see the karma in the situation of Alexander Isak, who didn’t join Liverpool and didn’t have success there “Jordan said on talkSPORT.
“He now risks missing the entire season. I’m desperately trying to avoid finding myself in this situation.
“Sometimes you reap what you sow”
I don’t wish anyone to get seriously injured, but I take into account the way people behave and sometimes I tell myself that you reap what you sow. It’s petty, I know. »
Isak’s nightmare first season at Liverpool after controversial Newcastle departure
Since his arrival at Liverpool, Isak has suffered repeated injuries. He missed just four Premier League games last season and has only made ten league appearances this year.
Alexander Isak’s first few months at Liverpool have been difficult. jTraining alone during his move from Newcastle, Isak was gradually brought into the team by Arne Slot after his signing, but scored just one goal in his first ten games in all competitions.
He then suffered another hamstring injury which kept him off the field for almost a month. He finally seemed to be finding his rhythm with two goals in his last six games.
However, a tackle from Micky van de Ven during his strike caused the striker to fracture his fibula, which could sideline him for up to 12 weeks. Liverpool, however, remains optimistic that their most expensive recruit will return before the end of the season.
