Captain and leader of Olympique Lyonnais, Corentin Tolisso (31) is off to a good start to the season. The midfielder has participated in 20 matches in all competitions this season. Time for him to score 7 goals. And he does not intend to stop there, he who has big objectives for the year 2026 as he admitted at a press conference.

“It all started in the summer of 2024. I had a discussion with Pierre Sage which did me a lot of good, then exchanges with my friends which allowed me to understand certain things. I had gotten a little lost in my goals, and on my return too. Last season, I set very clear objectives for myself and I made sure to implement them. I haven’t achieved them all yet, but I’m on the right track. Mentally, my mindset has changed. I understood certain things, I approach matches differently. I have to continue like this, because for now, it’s working well. When I’m good, I know why, and when I’m not so good, I also know how to explain it. I hope that 2026 will be even better than 2025. The goal is the World Cup and bringing home a trophy with OL.” It remains to be seen whether Didier Deschamps will respond to his call.
