After Borussia Dortmund’s 2-0 success against Mönchengladbach, the club’s leaders announced a financial sanction against Karim Adeyemi. The young striker was very annoyed by his exit in the 60th minute and tried to head directly to the locker room, before sporting director Sebastian Kehl stopped him. “The coach doesn’t want to see that, no one wants to see that. This is unacceptable, and Karim knows it too. This is why he will be financially sanctioned”he said.

Coach Niko Kovac also criticized the former Salzburg man and said his replacement was deserved. “He wasn’t good today. This is why its replacement is justified. You also have to be lucid”he assured. The 23-year-old, who would like to leave BVB, had already been at the center of controversy in recent weeks following a trial for illegal possession of weapons, punishable by a 60-day fine. On that occasion, BVB and the DFB agreed that Adeyemi would get involved in a social project in Dortmund, without planning further immediate disciplinary measures.
