He’s doing well. Guilty of a nasty elbow on Xavi Simons during Paris Saint-Germain’s spectacular victory against Tottenham (5-3), last November 26 in the Champions League, Lucas Hernandez is definitively fixed on his fate.

Initially suspended for three matches by UEFA, i.e. until the end of the C1 league phase, the 2018 world champion saw his sanction reduced to two matches by the control, ethics and disciplinary committee of the European body.

A decision which followed the appeal of the capital club, which therefore bore fruit. Lucas Hernandez will therefore potentially be able to play again before the end of the league phase of the most prestigious European competition.

Hernandez finally available for Newcastle

The versatile 29-year-old defender has already served one match, during the European champions’ draw in Bilbao (0-0). The former Bavarian will also miss the trip to Sporting Portugal (January 20), but will be available for the Newcastle reception (January 28).

His bad move on Simons particularly displeased his coach Luis Enrique, who did not hide his annoyance at the end of the match against Spurs. “ Lucas Hernandez’s red? Who likes this? It’s not the first time, it’s weird because it’s not normalhad released the Spanish coach at the microphone of Canal+. We need to talk about it and know that it is dangerous, said the Parisian coach. There is no (bad) intention because I know Lucas very well but you have to know how to control yourself. »
