Willian Pacho played his last match of 2025 in the Paris Saint-Germain jersey against Flamengo (1-1, tab 2-1) on Wednesday in the final of the Intercontinental Cup. The Ecuadorian central defender will not take part in the 32nd final of the Coupe de France against Vendée Fontenay Foot this Saturday.

In a press release published this Friday, the capital club indicates that the player “is left to rest”, a decision taken “in agreement with the sports management and the technical staff”. He will return to the Parisian group after the Christmas break and a well-deserved vacation to prepare for the second part of this 2025-26 exercise.

Luis Enrique can’t do without it anymore

Since his recruitment in the summer of 2024 from Eintracht Frankfurt for 45 million euros, bonus included, the native of QuinindĂ© has quickly established himself in Luis Enrique’s starting lineup. A key element in the Parisian club’s historic sextuplet, Pacho started this season as he finished the previous one.

In 2024-25, he was the player most used by the Spanish technician with 4,554 minutes in 57 matches, behind Achraf Hakimi (4,667). For 2025-26, he currently occupies 4th place with 1,585 minutes in 19 appearances, behind Warren Zaire-Emery (1,910), Vitinha (1,859) and Lucas Chevalier (1,800).
