Cold snap for RB Leipzig. Second in the Bundesliga behind Bayern Munich, largely the leader, the Red Bull club had to win to stay in the wake of the Bavarian club on the Union Berlin pitch. But after a controlled first period, Burke opened the scoring for the capital club (1-0, 57th).

Before Leipzig equalized straight away thanks to young Frenchman Tidiam Gomis (1-1, 60th). A short-lived equalizer, as Ansah gave the Union the advantage back a few moments later (2-1, 64th). A few moments before the end of the match, Skarke ensured victory for the locals (3-1, 90th + 3). Before receiving Bayer Leverkusen, Leipzig loses three important points and risks leaving its second place at the end of the day. For its part, Union Berlin moved up to 8th place.
