As we revealed to you 48 hours ago, the marriage between RC Lens and Amadou Haidara is imminent. The Malian midfielder, with experience of 159 Bundesliga matches (11 goals and 11 assists) and 37 Champions League matches, will settle down in Artois. Seduced by the project of the current leader of Ligue 1 and the prospect of evolving with his teammate in the selection Mamadou Sangaré, the native of Bamako agreed to make significant financial sacrifices to complete the operation. While the final administrative details are being settled between the two clubs, the financial contours of this “big move” are becoming clearer.

According to our information, Lens will pay the modest sum of €2 million (along with a bonus of €1 million linked to performance) to secure the services of the 27-year-old international. A paltry amount for an item still estimated at €12 million on Transfermarkt (and even €20 million a year ago). The operation suits everyone: RB Leipzig is offloading an imposing salary (more than €3 million annually) and a player on whom it no longer counted (no minutes played this season). For its part, the Lensoise management is carrying out a masterful operation at a lower cost, even if we will have to wait a little to see the Eagle at work: Haidara will fly off in the coming days to compete in the CAN with Mali.
