A year and four months after his transfer to Olympique de Marseille from Manchester United, Mason Greenwood seems to have justified the price of his recruitment. The English striker has established himself as the Ciel et Blanc’s number one threat, as evidenced by his record of 13 goals and 4 assists in 20 matches in all competitions this season.

This Tuesday, as the Champions League resumed, the Marseille number 10 took the opportunity to improve his statistics with a double against Union Saint-Gilloise (3-2). A valuable success for the French vice-champion who has the ambition to qualify at least for the play-offs.

“We have a team that gives the impression of not mastering its subject”

Former Olympian, Foued Kadir, savored OM’s success and congratulated Greenwood for his inspiration. “The 3 points are the most important, that’s what counts! We have a team that gives the impression of never mastering its subject. There is a start to the match where you concede a goal, the team is already split in two after a few minutes. Then, we managed to come back to a flash of genius from Greenwood, we had said before the match that he was the only one capable of making a difference”commented the Algerian attacking midfielder on the microphone of Marseille Football Club.

Despite everything, Martégal is not fully convinced by the general performance of Roberto De Zerbi’s men: “You manage to lead 3-1, you finally say to yourself we are going to control the last 20 minutes, we are going to run the ball, we are going to master our subject basically. And no, you put yourself in difficulty, you have two goals refused for offside, one of which is really very limited. If I had anything to remember it would be this, we have a team which gives the impression of not mastering its subject. »
