Trained at ASPTT Jugend Marseille, the young Franco-Senegalese striker, Samba Konaté, decided to leave the Nice Cavigal youth teams last summer to take the plunge in Germany. Aged only 16 and born in 2009, he signed his first professional contract with RB Leipzig. After only a few months, Konaté is already shining in the Leipzig U19 team. And it is logical that he came into play this Saturday during Leipzig’s victory (6-0) against Frankfurt, thus becoming the 2nd youngest player in the history of the Bundesliga.
Indeed, Samba Konaté has already accumulated 8 goals and 2 assists in 10 matches played in the U19 championship in Germany. A flamboyant start to the season which continues to impress across the Rhine. There is no doubt that we will have to closely monitor this new French nugget which is developing in Germany. The desires should not have to wait very long.
