Lucas Paquetá apologized for his expulsion against Liverpool this Sunday, while sending a particularly virulent message to the English Federation. The West Ham midfielder, who received two yellow cards in a few seconds for protesting to the referee, recalled that he had just emerged from the accusations of match-fixing which weighed on him for almost two years. On Xthe Brazilian denounced the psychological impact of this affair: “It’s absurd to see your life and career affected for two years without any psychological support from the Federation… This ridiculous behavior is perhaps only a reflection of everything I had to endure. I’m sorry if I’m not perfect. »

In this same message, Paquetá wanted to apologize to West Ham, recognizing an attitude which penalized his team, beaten 2-0 at Anfield. “I understand that I am now seen as the bad guy… This in no way justifies my expulsion and I apologize to the supporters and my teammates”he wrote. Nuno Espírito Santo, his coach, refused to comment directly, saying he wanted to speak directly with his player before taking any position.
