Guest of Rothen ignites this Thursday, the former central defender of Barça and Spain, Gerard Piqué, returned at length to the next edition of the Kings League before discussing the 2026 World Cup on American soil. Asked about the main favorites for the competition, the 38-year-old Spaniard recognized that the French team had all the weapons to win.

“Honestly, I think that if we take player by player, France is the selection with the most talent at this World Cup. It reached the final of the last two editions, it won in 2018, it lost in 2022. On paper, it is the best team, the best selection. Now, we have seen millions of times in football that names are not enough to win. We have to build a team where the players have a real connection with each other, where they get along well, understand each other on the pitch, whether they work well tactically in defensive moments as well as in offensive moments. And that’s why football is so beautiful: you never know what’s going to happen. Even if you are the favorite on paper, any team can beat you.”. Answer next summer.
