Transferred last summer, when Liverpool had paid 150 million euros to afford Alexander Isak, the Swedish striker had until then had a very complicated start with the Reds. In direct competition with Hugo Ekitike for the number 9 position, he had never managed to score in the Premier League under his new colors. Unrecognizable compared to his previous XXL season – 23 league goals with Newcastle – Isak symbolized the difficulties of a Liverpool lacking benchmarks this season.

This Sunday afternoon against West Ham, the former Magpies striker finally unlocked his Premier League score. In the 60th minute, the 26-year-old center forward opened the scoring with an excellent back serve from Cody Gakpo, scoring only his second goal for Liverpool, after the one scored in the League Cup against Southampton. A huge relief for the Swede, who now hopes to launch his season and help the Reds timidly climb the rankings.
