According to English media, Manchester United’s young prodigy JJ Gabriel is attracting persistent interest from FC Barcelona.

At just 15 years old, JJ Gabriel has established himself as the biggest hope in the Red Devils training center, and his stay at Manchester United this summer was seen as a real masterstroke.

At the end of his contract and being courted by major European clubs, Gabriel saw his contract extended thanks to the intervention of Jason Wilcox, sporting director of the club. The latter thus managed to convince the teenager and his family to stay and sign a new lease.

Nicknamed “Kid Messi”

The young striker is playing for Manchester United’s U18s this season and is currently averaging one goal per game, having scored a hat-trick against Liverpool in last weekend’s thumping 7-0 victory.

Nicknamed ‘Kid Messi’ since his precocious talents hit the internet, Gabriel has caught the attention of coach Ruben Amorim, who has included him in first-team training on several occasions since October.

Barcelona try to sign Gabriel

However, according to The Sun, Manchester United are fighting to keep their young prodigy. Indeed, Barcelona is making considerable efforts to secure the services of Gabriel.

The Catalan giant was probably already in the running to sign the young prodigy this summer, and he does not intend to give up despite the extension of his contract.
