PSG suffered a few scares on Wednesday on its lawn at the Parc des Princes. Because if the European champions finally dominated Tottenham (5-3), the Spurs led twice before finally letting go in the last half hour, the Parisians taking the opportunity to panic the counters again.
The Parisian supporters had another reason for concern upon returning from the locker room. Three weeks after the shock against Bayern Munich, marked by injuries to Ousmane Dembélé, Achraf Hakimi and Nuno Mendes, the Portuguese defender was left to leave at the break and be replaced by Lucas Hernandez.
Despite his left knee sprain at the beginning of the month, the international break was enough to get Nuno Mendes back on his feet. The former Sporting player was in fact a starter on Saturday against Le Havre and even played the entire match, providing an assist for Kang-In Lee.
A simple precaution?
On Wednesday, the precious left-back once again seemed at ease during the first 45 minutes. But it was the same against Bayern before examinations revealed his knee sprain the next day.
But according to Canal+, it is the precautionary principle which would have ordered this premature exit. Luis Enrique and his staff would not have wanted to take any risks with their player while PSG now has an appointment this Saturday in the Principality for the clash of the 14e day of Ligue 1 against Monaco.
