Three weeks after its defeat against Bayern Munich at the Parc des Princes, PSG must return to contact in the Champions League. The three initial successes placed it among the best teams but it is a question of consolidating this lead over the competition and ensuring its place in the top 8th at the end of this championship phase. The Tottenham reception (9 p.m.) is affordable, even if the Londoners have a good team on paper. They have still not lost in C1 this season (2 wins and 2 draws).
Luis Enrique took advantage of the arrival of the HAC on Saturday evening to rotate and field a competitive team this evening. We should find a more usual eleven, even if there are still injured people like Hakimi and Doué, Dembélé being back in the group. Chevalier will of course be in goal, he who probably had his best performance against the Normans on Saturday since his signing. To defend him, he will probably have Zaire-Emery on his right and Nuno Mendes on his left, helped by his starting hinge with Marquinhos, who would make his 500th appearance in the Parisian jersey, and Pacho.
Mayulu at the forefront, Barcola on the right?
In the middle, we will also have classics. We should even find the midfield that dominated Europe last spring with Vitinha at low point, helped by João Neves and Fabian Ruiz. There are more uncertainties ahead, especially with injuries to the regular starters. Gonçalo Ramos disappointed again by being in the starting lineup. He should return to his place on the bench to make way for a trio made up of Barcola on the right, Mayulu at the forefront, as against Barça, and Kvaratskhelia on the left. In great form at the moment, Lee would start as a substitute.
Opposite, Tottenham have revenge to take on themselves. Spurs were heavily beaten by Arsenal in the London derby this weekend. Thomas Frank should opt for a 4-2-3-1 with some old acquaintances from PSG. Vicario will be present as goalkeeper with a defense made up from right to left of Porro, Romero, Van de Ven and Udogie. The double-pivot would consist of Bentancur and Palhinha. In a more offensive register, Xavi Simons would play in a number 10 role with Kudus and Odobert on the sides to support Randal Kolo Muani, who would be preferred to Richarlison.
