PSG in the eighth, it's (almost) done

This Wednesday, Paris Saint-Germain produced an offensive festival at the Parc des Princes, against Tottenham (5-3). At the end of the fifth day of the league stage of the Champions League, the capital club is in second place in the general ranking.

With twelve points on the clock, the reigning European champions are only ahead of Arsenal, knowing that the Gunners have won all their matches in this competition this season. They have as many units as their three main pursuers (Bayern Munich, Inter Milan and Real Madrid) but enjoy a better goal difference.

Barring disaster, the Top 8 should not escape the Rouge et Bleu at the end of this league phase. Which should allow them to advance directly to the round of 16 of the competition. And to have the advantage of being seeded, therefore not facing another club from this Top 8 in the next round.

Luis Enrique’s men still have three matches to play in this league phase of the Champions League. On December 10, they will travel to Bilbao, before going to challenge Sporting in Portugal on January 20. Finally, the reception of Newcastle at the Parc des Princes on January 28 should make it possible to formalize this place in the Top 8.
