Mike Maignan struck another blow on Sunday evening. Once again the author of a very good performance, this time during the Derby della Madonnina against Inter Milan, stopping a penalty from Hakan Çalhanoglu (0-1 victory), the AC Milan goalkeeper naturally attracts the desire of the biggest European teams.

In Italy first, since the French goalkeeper is a priority target of the duo Giorgio Chiellini and Damien Comolli, in charge of recruitment for Juventus. All in order to compete with current goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio next summer, as explained by the Gazzetta dello Sport a few weeks ago.

But it’s not just in Italy that “Magic Mike” is popular. The pink paper newspaper reports that the player trained at PSG still has suitors in England, while his club still hopes to keep him.

An extension offer is on the table

Indeed, Chelsea remains on the lookout for a great opportunity in the summer market of 2026. Last summer, Mike Maignan was even very close to joining the London club. In vain, since he was even named captain of the Rossoneri by his coach Massimiliano Allegri. Milan, aware of the dangerousness of the advances made by the Blues, is therefore determined to extend the Frenchman. There
Gazzetta dello Sport affirms that an offer to extend two to three additional seasons is on the table from the Maignan clan. With a salary increase of 5 million euros net per year for the goalkeeper, who currently earns around 3.2.

Interesting financial arguments, which will nevertheless have to be matched by the club’s sporting ambitions. Both in Serie A – the Milanese are currently 2nd in the ranking – and in Europe. As a reminder, AC Milan is not involved in any European competition this season.
