Trained at AS Monaco and passed through Lorient and Clermont, Chrislain Matsima flourished fully in Augsburg. Starting the first 13 matches in all competitions this season, the 23-year-old defender has already scored a goal and provided an assist, as many as during the entire 2024-2025 season in 33 matches. Transferred last summer for 5 million euros after being sidelined by ASM, the native of Colombes quickly established himself in the Bundesliga and became an essential element of the German defense.

Rewarded for his performances, Matsima has just extended his contract with Augsburg until 2030. Indeed, general manager Michael Ströll announced yesterday, during the general meeting, that Chrislain Matsima was extending his contract by one year, until 2030. Initially arriving on loan in 2024, the German club quickly activated the purchase option, convinced by its immediate impact. The 1.93m defender confirms his consistency and takes full advantage of this setting to reach a new milestone.
