Led by a sparkling Vitinha and author of a hat-trick, Paris Saint-Germain enjoyed a precious success against Tottenham. Fabian Ruiz and Willian Pacho also participated in the offensive festival, allowing the Ile-de-France residents to win three essential points. A victory which propels the Rouge et Bleu to second place in the regular phase, with now 12 points on the clock.
With this success, Luis Enrique’s men take a big step towards the round of 16. A qualification which could be officially validated from December 10 in the event of a victory against Athletic Bilbao.
Shy Paris, clinical Tottenham
As is often the case, PSG started the match by monopolizing the ball. A clear possession, controlled, but generally sterile in the last thirty meters.
Well regrouped, the Spurs waited for their moment… and found it. In a quick action, Randal Kolo Muani serves Richarlison perfectly, who opens the scoring with a header (0-1, 35th). A cold snap which immediately woke Paris up: just before the break, Vitinha equalized with a splendid shot under the bar (1-1, 45th).
Paris unfolds… but is still afraid
Invigorated by this goal, the Parisians returned with better intentions. However, Tottenham strikes again as soon as they return from the locker room: Kolo Muani, again, gives the Londoners the advantage (1-2, 50th).
Fortunately for Paris, Vitinha responded immediately, this time with his left foot (2-2, 53rd). The match then changes completely. Fabian Ruiz concludes a superb collective action (3-2, 59th), then Willian Pacho makes the break with a powerful strike (4-2, 65th).
Against his former club, Kolo Muani produced an inspired performance and took advantage of Vitinha losing the ball to reduce the gap after a good sequence (4-3, 72nd). Touched in his pride, the Portuguese immediately recovered and scored his hat-trick from the penalty spot (5-3, 76th).
A tarnished end to the match
The only downside: the expulsion of Lucas Hernandez at the end of the match, which slightly darkens an overall successful evening for PSG.
