Beaten on the last day of the Champions League against Bayern Munich (1-2), Paris Saint-Germain must return to success against Tottenham, at the Parc des Princes, on Wednesday evening (9 p.m.), in order to gain a lead for a place in the first eight and direct qualification in the round of 16. But against Spurs, Luis Enrique will be deprived of Désiré Doué and Achraf Hakimi, while the tenure of Ousmane Dembélé remains compromised, since he will not take any risks. “We’ll see tomorrow. If there is no problem, Ousmane Dembélé will be among the players called up (…) With Ousmane, I am more attentive than usual. We want him to come back, but we have to stay attentive”indicated the Parisian manager.
However, Luis Enrique is not worried and assures that his team is capable of scoring and making the difference without his stars. “I don’t have to think about the absence of a single player, you have to think about improving all the time. I have to be very optimistic and courageous because a lot of players are scoring goals and making assists. We scored more goals than last year. We form a real team and it’s important to have different solutions, whether it’s on the left, right or in the axis”assured the Parisian manager.
Luis Enrique praises young people
Before praising the appearances of the young people from the training center and the substitutes, who made the difference during the last performances in the Championship. “The team’s performance has been very positive at the start of the season. I am very happy. It’s important to know that there are very young players who can help the team, these are important conditions for us, but also for the players who know that there is this opportunity. There are a lot of players and there are still others who can help the team”added Luis Enrique.
Because the Parisian manager intends to motivate his troops despite these numerous absences in order to achieve the clear objective of the season: retain the title of European Champion. “It’s easier to do training, you don’t have to talk a lot because you feel it’s a different match and a different competition for us. It’s our competition, we are the current champion and we want to continue on the path”. We will now have to confirm this tomorrow, with a success which would allow the Parisians to already have 12 points acquired in five matches.
