The end of 2025 is complicated for the French women’s football team. At the end of October, Laurent Bonadei’s girls were knocked out by Germany in the Nations League semi-final (1-0, 2-2). This even gave them the right to face Sweden in the small final. A back-and-forth duel that Selma Bacha will miss.

As announced this Tuesday by the French Football Federation, the international was released to join her club Olympique Lyonnais. The side had joined Clairefontaine the day before, four days before the first leg against the Swedes. But as the FFF indicated in its press release, the exams taken this Tuesday morning confirmed that Selma Bacha
“suffers from left hamstring discomfort”.

Last month against Germany, the Lyonnaise was not at her best physically, but she did her best to help the Blues reach the final. In vain. While this double confrontation against Sweden is less important, she will therefore be able to rest.

Bacha and Katoto not replaced among the Blues

This news is in any case a new blow for Laurent Bonadei since Monday evening, it was Marie-Antoinette Katoto who was also announced forfeit. The former PSG player is also affected in the left hamstring. A physical problem which broke out on Saturday during the championship match between OL Lyonnes and Strasbourg.

The Blue coach clarified that Marie-Antoinette Katoto and Selma Bacha will not be replaced numerically in a group which now has twenty-four players.
