Birmingham City chairman Tom Wagner has raised the possibility of Jude Bellingham returning to his training club in the future. During the presentation of the project for a new 62,000-seat stadium, called Powerhouse Stadium and estimated at 1.2 billion pounds (approximately 1.36 billion euros), Wagner underlined the importance of Bellingham for the community and English football according to The Daily Mail : “If we can give him a platform to reach his full potential, then it will be a great story.” A great story for Birmingham, a great story for England and a great homecoming story”.
Trained at the club, Bellingham left the club for Borussia Dortmund and now plays for Real Madrid. Wagner described the young midfielder as “the best player on the planet right now” and convinced Bellingham to participate in promotional videos for the new stadium. The project is part of a broader ambition for urban and sports development, including a sports district and the possibility of hosting the NFL or international matches.
