Real Madrid went a third match without a win on Sunday, conceding a 2-2 draw against Elche.

Trailing twice, the La Liga leaders finally snatched a share of the points thanks to goals from Dean Huijsen and Jude Bellingham.

According to Diario AS, coach Xabi Alonso expressed his disappointment with the result, while showing optimism for the future.

“It’s football. After good momentum, we experienced several disappointing results. We know what we want, we have to move forward. We are not satisfied, we always want to win. But we can’t be. There are many matches left, let’s focus on the next one by analyzing our performance today.

Alonso towards improving relations with Real Madrid players?

We continue to fight, the context of each match is different. Only the result counts, we are aware of it and we know how to be self-critical. The state of mind is good, when faced with adversity, you have to react. It’s Real Madrid. We accept criticism, we want to progress. »

One of the new additions to Alonso’s starting XI was the inclusion of Fran Garcia as left winger, with Vinicius Junior relegated to the bench. He explained that the Brazilian was comfortable with the decision.

“We talked about it. We usually discuss it regularly. (Vinicius) understands, he knew what role he could play. We had already done it on other occasions, like in Getafe. Today, we are not satisfied, but everyone is motivated to regain good momentum. »

Vinicius and Xabi Alonso have strained relations.

Alonso also made it clear that he was seeing daily improvement in the mutual understanding and application of his tactics within his team.

“Relationships are improving, we have more time and exchanges, we know each other better. We are all in this together, we celebrate the victories. We suffer when we lose. Cohesion is good. We must reverse the trend, starting with Athens. »
