If the Merengue came very close to a defeat, this result allows them to maintain a lead in the standings over their rivals. But the new dynamic of the Spanish vice-champion remains no less worrying. The Castilian team has just had a second draw and is struggling to return to victory since its defeat against Liverpool (0-1) on November 4 in the Champions League.
“We are not happy”
After the final whistle, Madrid coach Xabi Alonso spoke of his team’s current poor form.
