Liga: Espanyol Barcelona gets the better of Sevilla

After two consecutive losses, Espanyol Barcelona (6th) was keen to get their heads back upright against Sevilla (9th), at the RCDE Stadium, for the end of this 13th day of La Liga. Dominated during a large part of the match by Matias Almeyda’s team, the Catalans still opened the scoring in the second half with a header from Pere Milla (48th, 1-0). Roberto Fernández then allowed the locals to make the break (84th, 2-0), before Marcao gave hope to the Andalusians (86th, 2-1).

Despite this reduction in the score, Espanyol held on to claim a sixth success in 13 league matches. Manolo Gonzalez’s men are currently 6th in La Liga, with the same number of points as Real Betis (5th). Opposite, the friends of Alexis Sánchez and Akor Adams fall again, after winning against Osasuna the previous weekend, and are 11th.
