A completely lunar scene occurred at Old Trafford this Monday, during Everton’s trip to Manchester United in the Premier League. In the 13th minute of play, Idrissa Gana Gueye got into a disagreement with his own teammate, Michael Keane. The former Paris Saint-Germain player even slapped the English defender before Jordan Pickford separated the two men and match referee Tony Harrington sent off Gueye.
A scene far from being unprecedented in the Premier League. In 2008, Jamaican Riccardo Fuller was sent off after slapping his own partner at Stoke City, Andy Griffin. Despite this numerical inferiority, the Toffees are currently leading at Old Trafford (0-1), after a magnificent goal from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. But there is no doubt that this altercation will get people talking in England.
