The future of Elye Wahi is written in dotted lines on the side of Eintracht Frankfurt. Arriving from Olympique de Marseille last winter to relaunch himself in exchange for a check for 25 million euros, the French striker has not yet managed to regain his cruising speed.

Ten months after setting down his suitcases on the banks of the Main, the former Lensois displays a starving record. In 23 matches played in all competitions, he scored 1 goal and delivered 3 offerings to his teammates.

An attitude that annoys

But, in addition to his performance, it is also Wahi’s lack of involvement which greatly disappoints the SGE. When he came into play against FC Cologne (4-3) this Friday in the Bundesliga, the Ile-de-France player was not at all convincing, causing the frustration of his coach Dino Toppmöller.

At a press conference, the German coach declared:
“In the end, we also have to talk about the players who came into play who did not justify their playing time”targeting Wahi, Jean-Mattéo Bahoya and Ellyes Skhiri, according to the daily
Bild.

In this context, the SGE intends to part ways with Wahi, from the next transfer window. Despite a contract running until June 2030, the departure of the 22-year-old center forward now appears “inevitable” across the Rhine.
